The club is built on a family-friendly culture, providing a space to surf together, compete, and progress through junior pathways and representative opportunities. Its roots trace back to the surfboard riding boom of the 1960s in the Sutherland Shire, and it has endured where many other clubs faded. Emerging from the closure of Midway club, Cronulla Sharks Boardriders became a stronghold for young talent, originally featuring surfers like Mark Occhilupo, Richard James, and Michael Mackie. Today, it continues to foster community, competition, and a love for surfing in Cronulla.
